The ability to understand music is a fundamental, but often elusive, part of dancing.
Join Audra in a 2 hour lecture style workshop as we delve into the building blocks of music. We’ll deconstruct music and take a look at its nuts and bolts, leaving you with a deeper understanding and appreciation.
Common musical aspects such as notes, notation, time signatures, melody versus percussion will be defined and examined.
This workshop is designed to be taken in conjunction with Musicality 2 – What now?, but it can also be taken on its own.
Please bring a notebook and pen. Open to all levels and styles.

Together, we’ll break down the piece into its basic structure or building blocks, making manageable sections to begin to create movement to. We’ll discuss some of the different ways to create combinations as we break into smaller groups and begin to choreograph our building blocks.
This workshop is designed to be taken in conjunction with Musicality 1: Music’s Nuts and Bolts, but it can also be taken on its own.
Please bring a notebook and pen, refillable water bottle and an open mind. Open to all levels and styles.
