Heather Labonte Modern Bellydance Blog
about
Originally from Newfoundland, Heather Labonté makes her home in Toronto. In nearly sixteen years of dance, she has trained in belly dance, jazz, ballet, modern and a number of other styles, along with a background in music and theatre.
Heather relocated to Toronto in 2009 to continue her studies with innovative dancer, choreographer and teacher Audra at the Dark Side Studio, where she now teaches regular classes. She also continues her studies in hip hop, modern dance and classical bellydance. She regularly takes advantage of opportunities to travel and learn from influential instructors, including among others, Rachel Brice, Mardi Love, Mira Betz and Zoe Jakes. (Full dance CV is available here.)
In addition to her work as a soloist, Heather performs as part of Lavish Dance, and toured in Summer 2011 with the company’s sophomore Fringe production, Affogato. She also works frequently with local dance artist and designer Danielle Davies.
